Essentially my pagan beliefs are very simple. I believe in a Goddess and a God who remain nameless, I'm sure when they feel a need for names they'll tell me!
I believe in a balance in all things and that we all can play a part in achieving this balance. I believe in a duality of existence in the world as we know it, this being the physical and astral planes. By changing something on one plane it changes on the other.
I believe in the power of our minds, will power, the psyche, the spirit, call it what you will. However, I don't believe in any inheritant divinity of this spirit as this would suggest our lives are preordained a nd that we have no control over our own destiny.
I believe it is possible to make somethings happen and that by focusing the mind by whatever method - meditation, spells, crystals, candles, we can actually make things happen. In this we have a huge responsibility not to meddle and not to harm others even when helping someone.
Why do I believe all of these things? I've seen them happen. "Bought a ticket and saw the show" could be one way of putting it. I asked my Goddess and God if they'd like to say hello, and they did, and I've never looked back.
For years, since childhood, I knew I was missing something. There was a gap. And as hard as I tried to make "conventional" religion fit that gap it wouldn't.
As for other peoples beliefs, I think it's more important to believe in something rather than nothing. I won't put down anyones' beliefs, but I will speak out against individuals and religious groups that harm others.
