Thanks to our community in 2021

What a year 2021 has been! We thought we’d seen it all in 2020, then this year came along to test us again!

Keeping everyone safe during COVID-19 was the top priority for us. It was a challenge for services like ours offering crisis and emergency accommodation. Our fantastic case workers rose to the occasion brilliantly, making sure that all our clients were safely cared for and supported.

This year saw a huge spike in the number of people needing our support to escape homelessness.  We helped 805 clients to rapidly resolve their homelessness in 2020-21 – up 94% on 2019-20. Affordable housing is one of the biggest barriers to success in escaping violence.

While the challenges in 2021 were great, the successes and wins were even greater. We were lucky enough to attract many new supporters, sponsors and donors during this year, as well as retaining our long-term partners.

There are so many wonderful and generous people who have contributed to our work this year, we don’t have the space to name them all. The outpouring of kindness from our community has been especially overwhelming in the lead up to Christmas.

A heartfelt and enormous THANK YOU to all our supporters in 2021. From the three children who each used their pocket money to buy a gift for a child in our care to the amazing philanthropist supporting four new programs with a $350,000 grant. You have all helped to bring love and joy to the very vulnerable women and children at Jenny’s Place this Christmas.

Thanks to all of you, they will not feel alone this Christmas. They will feel held and cared for by a wonderful and supportive community.
